On 7-8 September 2021, the international industry meeting for surface coating of paper, board and packaging material will take place - the 30^th PTS Coating Symposium 2021! The line-upof this years edition will focus on the topic"Functional coatings for fibre based packaging".

The 30^th edition of the PTS Coating Symposium marks a milestone in the history of this long-standing international conference. Together with the top-class programme committee represented by Dr. Ulla Forsström (VTT Technical Research Centre), Matthias Edl (Solenis), Dr. Samir Kopacic (Graz University of Technology), Prof. Dr. Frank Miletzky (PTS) and Stefan Rössing (Chief Executive Officer - German Association for Paper and Plastics Processing (HPV) e.V.), the PTS conference hosts Dr Marcel Haft and Ina Greiffenberg have put together an excellent and stimulating schedule.

Internationally recognised speakers from science, industry and state authorities administration will give exciting insights in their work in five themed sessions:"Application Techniques", "New Barrier Raw Materials", "Analytics and Processes", "All Cellulose Products", "Closing the Loop" covering the whole value chain.

The current edition of the PTS Coating Symposium will take place as an online conference and will be held in English. With these changes we hope to encourage  a big audience to follow our programme, also from abroad, as the current situation prevents most of them from detailed travel plans. Widely ranging topics, contributions from international experts and a broad exchange of ideas will frame the PTS Coating Symposium. With talks and Q&A sessions, the programme will provide a platform for your questions and an interactive exchange. In a panel discussion, current trends and their potential for functional coatings will be discussed and assessed. In addition to conference proceedings, the presentations will also be available to interested parties via an on-demand option for later viewing around the world.
